I am deeply saddened about Typhoon Haiyan's effects on Philippines, and felt compelled to write a little to harvest more prayers for the country. Despite our differences (Singaporeans have been rather anti-foreigner lately, mostly targeted at Filipinos and Chinese from China), I believe that in hard times such as these, we should stand together as a community to help and pray for the victims.
Today I pray that there will be healing in the victims' hearts, there will be restoration of their homes, there will be enough supplies for all the victims, there will be comfort for their souls, there will be safety after the storm and there will be shelter. I pray that our Daddy God holds their hands through this awful disaster, and help them rebuild their lives and hearts again. Amen.
If you want to do more than praying, there are various ways to donate to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan all over the world like the Red Cross, UNICEF etc.
For Singaporeans, here is a handy list compiled by Today if you wish to pitch in a little.
I am also grateful today, that living in Singapore we are sheltered from natural disasters and kept relatively safe from harm time and time again. Thank you Daddy.
